The First and Only Industry-Recognized Wireless Curriculum Available to Colleges and Universities this Fall

Denver, CO - June 7, 2002 - Much like the world of networking was in the early 1990's, wireless is the latest craze to hit the IT certification world. Being certified in wireless networking can immediately set IT professionals apart from their peers and allows companies a jump start on their competition. Yet until now, there hasn't been an industry-recognized, academically driven program that could teach students the necessary wireless skills to obtain certification.

Planet3 Wireless, Inc., creator of the first and only industry-recognized training and certification program in wireless networking, has partnered with WestNet Learning Technologies, Inc., a leading IT curriculum and content developer, to create an academic learning package for the CWNA® certification.

CWNA Certification

The CWNA certification is a Planet3 Wireless certification program, similar to Cisco®, Novell, and Microsoft, yet vendor neutral like CompTIA and NACSE. The CWNA certification gives networking professionals a standardized set of measurable wireless local area network (LAN) skills and employers a standard level of wireless LAN expertise to require of their employees.

By earning the CWNA credential, IT professionals demonstrate that they have the skills necessary to administer, install, configure, and troubleshoot wireless network systems. The CWNA certification, the first step in a four-level certification series within the Certified Wireless Network Professional Program (CWNP®), is appropriate for:

The CWNA Academic Learning Series helps participants learn how to install, manage, and support wireless networks, while also preparing them for the CWNA certification exam.
