Planet3 Wireless Creates
Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP®) Program

Partnership with Prometric Thomson Learning to Deliver Industry's First Vendor-Neutral Wireless Network Certification

DENVER, CO., July 11, 2001. Planet3 Wireless, Inc., a WLAN reseller and leading provider of expert content and services for the wireless network market, today announced an agreement with Prometric Thomson Learning, the global leader in computer-based testing and assessment services, to provide a testing and certification program for wireless network experts and administrators. The partnership delivers Planet3 Wireless' Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) Program at over 1,300 Prometric test sites in the U.S. and Canada where network engineers and administrators - including consultants, partners, customers, trainers and students - can now officially demonstrate and certify their expertise in wireless networking.

The CWNP Program addresses the IT industry's demand for skilled network experts and administrators who are capable of implementing and administering many different brand names of wireless LAN equipment and creates standard measurement of knowledge for wireless LANs. Prometric has provided many companies with similar testing services such as Cisco®, Microsoft, Novell, IBM, Lotus, SUN, Cisco®, and Compaq. The CWNP Program is the first vendor-neutral wireless certification for network experts and administrators.

"Prometric is committed to providing world-class test administration services for CWNP testing candidates. The Wireless LAN market is growing rapidly. Until now, however, there's been no standard measure of knowledge for the people who work with the equipment of various vendors." said Mark Goulding, Prometric's Vice President of Information Technology Services.

"Planet3 Wireless is committed to providing the highest quality certification materials to create and continue a standard of knowledge for this fast-growth sector," said Kevin Sandlin, CEO and Co-Founder of Planet3 Wireless. "By partnering with a proven test administration leader like Prometric, we can ensure that network experts and administrators have the skills to meet the needs of organizations using Wireless LANs around the world. At the same time, the certification allows IT professionals to increase productivity, gain credibility, and assess their ability with all the different brands of WLAN equipment."

The first level of the CWNP program, CWNA®, will be available July 16, 2001, at Prometric Testing centers in North America.
