Security University Joins CWNP Education Partner Program
to Deliver CWNA/CWSP Boot Camp
Security University joins the CWNP Authorized Courseware Program
ATLANTA, Georgia. - Sept 10, 2003 - Planet3 Wireless, Inc., creator of the industry-standard CWNP® wireless LAN training and certification program, has partnered with Security University, the leading hands-on information security curriculum and content developer, to develop and deliver classes to support both the CWNA® and CWSP® wireless LAN certifications. Security University joins the CWNP Authorized Courseware program, which allows third party courseware developers to create authorized courseware based on the CWNA and CWSP exam objectives. To raise the level of information security in the enterprise, Security University then adds escalating security policy and architecture workshops to each class to securely integrate wireless networking into your existing infrastructure.
Sondra J. Schneider, Security University's Founder & CEO, says, "There is a special need for a Wireless Boot Camp. It is designed for wireless savvy network administrators who don't need a 5 day CWNA class, but need a really good wireless LAN primer for the CWSP Wireless LAN Security class. Of course, we will continue to offer the entire CWNA and CWSP classes at all our partner locations. In the Boot Camp, the instructor drills into wireless LAN Administration and Wireless Security training with extensive hands-on labs and workshops (developed by Security University) to help the IT professional accurately integrate a wireless LAN to an existing wired network environment, current policy & procedures controlling wireless access, while maximizing security to protect company data."
"IT security has become an increasingly important issue to our students," says Maureen Donnelly, Director of KEI Pearson Advanced Training Center, training partner of Security University. "Many of our students hold primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity of their organizations wireless network infrastructure, and websites, but sadly, the majority of them have little or no training on how to effectively create, implement and maintain a wireless IT security plan."
According to Sondra Schneider, "Security University's mission is to help raise the level of information security in your enterprise by providing hands-on information security training for the different needs in your organization: executives, network professionals, system administrators and consultants.
Kevin Sandlin, Planet3 Wireless CEO and Co-Founder, added, "It's great to have Security University as a partner to both develop and deliver training through its partner training network. SU brings a whole new perspective of focusing mainly on security to the wireless LAN training business. The authorized courseware that Security University creates will add significant value to IT professionals seeking CWNA and CWSP training."
