SECURITY CERTIFIED PROGRAM (SCP™) AND CERTIFIED WIRELESS NETWORK PROFESSIONAL (CWNP®) PROGRAM TO PARTNER

CWSP® certification recommends SCNP as security pre-requisite.

Planet3 Wireless, Inc. is recommending that candidates for the upcoming CWSP® certification, which will be available January 1, 2003, first achieve the Security Certified Network Professional™ credential as a basis for network security training. The Security Certified Program is recommending that IT professionals who achieve the SCNP certification consider the CWNP program as a training platform for a career in wireless LAN security and management.

"All CWSP candidates must be CWNA certified, to assure their proficiency in wireless LANs," says Kevin Sandlin, CEO of Planet3 Wireless, Inc., "and we are strongly recommending the SCNP certification to make sure that all CWSP candidates have a solid network security background. The two go hand in hand."

"The CWNP program is a natural next step, especially the wireless security certification (CWSP), for IT professionals who earn one or both of the SCP certifications," says Warren Peterson, President and CEO of the Security Certified Program. "As wireless networking becomes more and more part of our daily lives, the CWSP certification and training program will ensure that individuals looking for that level of knowledge have an avenue that which they are seeking."

Planet3 Wireless, Inc., creator of the Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP®) training and certification program, announced the launch of the Certified Wireless Consulting Partner (CWCP) program earlier this year. CWCP is a free recognition and referral program for companies who employ at least 2 CWNA certified individuals.

About the Security Certified Program

The Security Certified Program (SCP) develops and validates skills of information security professionals. The SCP is a two-level, vendor neutral security certification program that enables individuals to acquire skills and get certified as a Security Certified Network Professional (Level One) or a Security Certified Network Architect (Level Two). The focus of Level One is on Defense, using technologies such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Virtual Private Networks. The focus of Level Two concentrates on trusted communication and emerging security technologies like Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), biometrics, and smartcards. To obtain certification within each level, students must pass at two proficiency exams demonstrating their security knowledge. For more information, please visit www.SecurityCertified.Net.
