CWNP Program Wireless LAN Security Exam to be Upgraded in January
ATLANTA, Georgia, September 28, 2005 - The CWNP Program, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification, today announced that its wireless LAN security exam (PW0-200) will be upgraded in January to cover advances in securing wireless networks. The exam is required for the CWSP certification for IT professionals.
The exam objectives are available online for review by courseware developers, curriculum planners, and instructors. Candidates who have studied, or are now studying, the current exam objectives should register to take the exam prior to December 31, 2005.
"Wireless security has been, and will continue to be, the hot topic and area of concern for organizations with wireless networks," said Kevin Sandlin, CEO and co-founder of the CWNP Program. "IT professionals who have taken the exam, the wireless LAN security class, or read the CWSP Study Guide are all prepared to secure an enterprise wireless network. This exam upgrade makes sure they continue to have an up-to-date measure of their knowledge to help keep hackers out of their network."
The updated exam will cover recent changes in wireless technology, including the 802.11i security amendment, WPA2, wireless intrusion prevention systems, and the latest wireless LAN attacks and how to prevent them. The exam remains vendor-neutral - as do all the CWNP exams - and prepares IT professionals on how to secure any wireless network, not just that of a specific vendor.
The CWSP certification is one of the advanced level certifications of the CWNP Program. According to Certification Magazine's 2004 salary survey, IT professionals who hold the CWSP wireless LAN security certification earn more than any other certification except CCIE.
The new exam objectives can be found on the CWNP Program web site at www.cwnp.com/exams/pw0200_objectives_2006.html
