CWNP Program Announces Wireless# Certification
Entry-level certification tests five different wireless data technologies.
ATLANTA, Georgia, October 4, 2005 - The CWNP Program, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification, today announced the availability of Wireless# ("wireless sharp"). Wireless# is an entry level wireless certification created in response to strong market demand for professionals who are required to be proficient in a variety of basic wireless technologies.
The new exam covers the skills required by computer technicians, network support technicians, and technical support specialists. The Wireless# exam covers the following wireless technologies as they apply to computer data network connectivity:
"While the CWNA certification prepares IT professionals to install and manage medium and large scale enterprise wireless networks, what we have created in Wireless# is an entry level IT certification that tests knowledge of a broader range of wireless technologies," says Kevin Sandlin, CEO & Co-Founder of the CWNP Program.
Devin Akin, CTO and Co-Founder of the CWNP Program, added, "With recent industry estimates putting the consumer Wi-Fi market at over $9 billion, the new popularity of Bluetooth, WiMAX, and now ZigBee, there is a huge need in the market for qualified professionals who are in the position of recommending, selling, or installing all of these technologies into the consumer and small office marketplace."
The Wireless# exam objectives are available at www.cwnp.com/exams/pw0050_objectives.html
The Wireless# beta exam will be available later in October at a discounted price of $85 (USD).
