STUDY SHOWS CWNP WIRELESS SECURITY CERTIFICATION INCREASES SALARY
ATLANTA, Georgia, July 20, 2006 - The CWNP Program, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification, today announced Foote Partners, an IT workforce research firm, has found IT professionals that hold the CWSP and CWNA certifications to earn significantly more than their non-certified counterparts.
Foote Partners recently added CWNP certifications to the ones it tracks. Eighty percent of workers with the security certification (CWSP) see a 6% to 9% increase over base pay attributable to having that credential. Having the wireless administrator certification (CWNA) results in a smaller - 4% to 8% - bump in pay, Foote says.
"This is a great independent validation of the value of CWNP," said Kevin Sandlin, CEO and co-founder of the CWNP Program. "Our customers have known all along the knowledge they gain from our certifications leads to a better career, and now we have a well respected company like Foote Partners to confirm that."
Foote Partners is recognized worldwide for publishing the only IT industry salary survey that corrects for job titles that don't match what IT workers actually do on-the-job --- a problem the plagues and ultimately invalidates most major IT salary survey available today that uses passive surveying methods.
The firm's research division, Foote Research Group, publishes a series of IT and HR research products that have helped more than 900 employers solve their most difficult information technology workforce problems and strengthen their management capabilities.
