Introduction to Wireless LAN Analysis
A disadvantage of using simulators is that they are relatively expensive.
They also require significant training before someone is able to develop
effective simulation models. In addition, the results are only as
accurate as the predictions you make for traffic loads and numbers of
users. Figure 1.5 is a picture of an emulation system that can emulate
up to 64 simultaneous 802.11a/b/g clients. This system in particular
can use external traffic generation software such as shown in Figure 1.6
to produce real-world traffic flows.
