FAQ
CWNP Program Specifics
CWNP exams are vendor-neutral and therefore do not include questions relating to the use of vendor-specific hardware or software. The CWNP certification program tests vendor-neutral wireless LAN 802.11 technology, rather than specific functions of vendor products.
Passing the CWNP exams enables you to learn and understand any vendor's product line, not just one.
No, CWNP exam objectives are not changed when CWNP courseware is updated. CWNP exam objectives remain the same throughout the life of the exam.
Like most high-stakes certification exams, CWNP revises objectives (and exam versions) every 18 months or longer. By contrast, CWNP courseware is updated more frequently to include errata corrections and changes to industry standards, technology or application software. However, current CWNP courseware always covers the current CWNP exam objectives.
The CWNP brand has come to represent quality standards in wireless certification, education and skills validation. The program's original name has evolved and is therefore de-emphasized in favor of the simple CWNP brand. The acronym "CWNP" was adopted to represent a family of professional certifications and associated curriculum originally known as the Certified Wireless Network Processional (CWNP).
