What you stated is correct. You're responsible for knowing only the regulatory domain info listed IN the 802.11 standard (as amended) - nothing additional. HOWEVER, it behooves the individual to know LOTS more about their own regulatory domain rules than just what is listed in the standard for practical, real-world work.
