  • I read on CWSP book, they said that if we want to setup a rogue AP, should configure on 900MHz and use spectrum FHSS

I see no almost usual clients/adapter supported 900Mhz.

why we don't use channel 13, or 14 at 2.4Ghz for least interference

  • That???¡é?¡é?????¡é???¡és the point. Conventional WIDS/WIPS ect use only 2.4/5GHz spectrum and are only capable of detecting 802.11a/b/g AP???¡é?¡é?????¡é???¡és. An AP operating on 900MHz will not be visible because it operates on a different frequency band. An FH AP even operating at 2.4 will not trigger a rouge AP alert because the RF modulation type is not discernable by b/g AP, although some systems are capable of seeing it as an interference source. Although not readily available they can be obtained. Use of other channels will still be reported as the RF modulation and frequencies are still part of 802.11a/b/g.
