I appreciate all the comments on my 'tier' posting http://wlanpros.com/tiers - It was just a quick list to answer a student's question about various Wireless Vendors. It wasn't meant to 'rank' these vendors, more just put them into groupings so you'd know where they fall.

I too wish the WiFi Alliance did more stringent testing, especially about the client side. The problem is based on the fact each vendor wants something 'unique' to give them a step up on the competition, yet still has to abide by standards. WFA is a vendor organization and has incentive to pass devices on the barest of minimum standards.

Any attempt at more stringent testing would inevitably fail some vendor's devices - and that just wouldn't do...

Oh well, it keeps us all working.
