  • I read the article, and both agree and disagree with what was said. First, I know MANY people personally that have been hired at $70k+/yr to do wireless-only jobs with little to no background in networking. However, we (CWNP) think that it's very important to have a background in networking (the more the better) before trying to land a big position in wireless. Wireless is an access technology that still relies on knowledge of networking infrastructures as a whole.
