  • I've read several claims that 802.11ac will end up saving battery power, even in receive mode.

    I understand the claims that it will save power for transmit mode - even if that sounds like a good dose of marketing hype.   But in receive mode too ?   

    Other than phone type devices, in transmit mode how is it going to help ?   Are we talking about some type of "scheduled" reception.

    Claims of improved sensitivity and better antennas contributing to battery savings sound like nonsense.  

    Does anyone have good intel on this?
