  • Wireless Network Consulting Engineer to support Enterprise WLAN and Outdoor Wireless Mesh accounts in the Cisco Services Wireless Consulting Practice.

    Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts. Performs architectural planning and design along with configuration and integration support. Also provides operational support for complex, wireless network deployments. Identify & document design/architecture best practices for global Cisco Services adoption.

    Additional Job Info:

    -In depth knowledge of Wireless technology -RF Design, RF Survey/Engineering and RF troubleshooting skills -IP Network Design skills -Thorough understanding of WLAN security and network management -Experience designing and deploying key WLAN applications including Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access -Expert level Inter-networking troubleshooting in a large scale network environment. -Strong Technical Account management skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. PREFERRED SKILLS: -CCIE -CCIE-WLAN, CCNP-WLAN, CCNA-WLAN -CWNA, CWSP, CWAP, CWNE -CCNP, CCDP -Project Management, leadership and mentoring skills. -IP networking, LAN Switching, VoIP, etc. -In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability, QOS & capacity planning. They may need resources who are able to travel 20% ? 50% throughout the US to various enterprise client sites (i.e. retail, healthcare, etc..) for delivery on AS engagements. Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent plus 5-10 years experience in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment. MS strongly preferred.
    Work Environment (culture, deadline intensive, flexible hours, dress code) :
    They will be working on various customer sites throughout the U.S. representing Cisco Advanced Service team. They must be VERY professional AND be customer service centric.

    The internal customer is Cisco Advanced Services Wireless Practice AND the external is all of Cisco's customers, i.e. healthcare, retail, etc...

    Impact to the Internal/External Customer? (i.e., how does the end-users job become easier?) :
    This will allow Cisco To grow its AS Wireless business, growing revenue AND let their customers communicate more effectively within their organizations, gaining efficiencies by being able To work wireless. Cisco must be able To support projects that are won To realize revenue AND profits. Missed deadlines by SLAs lead To penalties lowering expected revenue.
