  • HI
i am new to network security., well just started learning. I like to know why double encryption with DES is no good, (ie. 2DES = DES[k1](DES[k2](m))). k1 and k2 are keys. I also like to know how it can be broke.
    Could someone help, please?

  • Hi James:

The attack on double-DES is called meet-in-the-middle.

    google: "DES meet-in-the-middle"

I hope this helps. Thanks. /criss
