You're absolutely right ? enterprise gear isn't strictly the answer to Apple's problem. The Laws of Physics get in the way of anyone solving the WWDC problem.
What [i]would[/i] have helped: Apple providing a WiFi network for all the attendees so that they wouldn't have to rely on portable hotspots. Of course, [i]that[/i] would require enterprise grade gear.
There's three good lessons here:
- Demos are risky. Especially wireless ones. We now know another senario were wireless can fail.
- Conferences need to provide WiFi for the attendees. It makes everyone's life better.
- Steve Jobs. Grace under pressure.
