  • Yup.

I actually asked my question poorly. Yeah, I know that RTS/CTS minimizing collision, but I'm looking for how the proverbial sausage is made in getting throughput numbers up in super dense conference areas.

Maybe if I phrase my question a different way...

Is there a way to get the power down on each client so that the RTS/CTS isn't even necessary?

I don't know enough about 802.11 to know whether or not STAs only send out *just* enough info so as not to collide with anything else, or if they just blast it out at some constant power level, collide with whatever they collide with on that channel, and then deal with the collision via RTS/CTS.
