  • Hi All,

I need to make 802.11b work together with Bluetooth.
The idea is to utilize 802.11b for Network Connection and Bluetooth for a headset.
Does anybody know if 802.11b will interfere with Bluetooth on the same device?

    Any input is appriciated.

    Thanks,

  • Bluetooth is frequency hopping in the same frequencies as 802.11b. So yes there will be RF interference. (If you have a spectrum analyser you can see the signal hopping across the 2.4Ghz frequency).

Whether it will actually interfere very much with the operation of your wireless connection is another question. I tried this once and I dont think it stopped my WLAN from working. I'll give it another try later if I have chance.

However, I know in some places the use of bluetooth devices where there are wireless networks is banned because of interference problems.

    Cheers

    Andrew
