  • I fixed the problem, it was outdated driver. The Hardware Dept. informed me that the laptops had the latest driver, but that was not the case. Once the new driver was installed the client associated. However these cards are not very stable and tend to drop connection frequently. If this happens you can adjust the "Roaming Agressiveness " in the card itself. Here are the instructions: Right cklick My Computer, go to Manage, Device Manager, Network Adapters, double click the Intel card, click the Advanced tab, look for Property on the left side, and arrow down and click "Roaming Agressiveness" then move the bar over to the lowest value.

    This procedure is for XP, and applies also to the Intel Pro wireless 2200BG cards.
