  • I had a student where they had a lab for pharmaceutical research and it cost upwards of $2000 per Cat5 drop because of the cleanliness stuff. However, I didn't recommend mesh. I told them to stick an WGB in the lab and run internal wired from there. No throughput lost though repeater mode and still served the same function. Another trick is to connect that WGB with a crossover (still have to find a source of power) to an AP, and now you have a good wireless system without the 1/2 throughput loss like repeater mode.

    I guess I see indoor mesh in some cases, but losing that much throughput troubles me, but of course it always depends on the situation.
