Encryption method vs Encryption algorithm

    This is another very interesting thread, I hope that I might be able to barge in as it is something I am wondering about. Marc has some valid points, from what I have been reading. I would like to ask if this hierarchy is correct, if not then I am confused as well.

    WEP, WPA, and 802.11i are Encryption Standards
    TKIP and CCMP are Encryption Protocols
    RC4 and AES are Encryption Algorithms

    If so then I agree with Marc?¡é?€??s initial assessment of the question.

    Also, is there a difference between a cipher suite and encryption algorithm?
