  • Had it working for the first minute of a race, then they hit a big wave and wiped out my antenna...

Does anyone know of a supplier of springs that I can use to connect a 6dBi Omni with N-Female to a powerboat..

Hperlinks Marine mounted antenna is only 802.11b and I'm using 802.11a and google isnt helping in my search for springs that support N-Type Screw threads.

  • Try a Ham Radio shop. They sell more rugged mounts. They have a lot of odd things I have used for 802.11 in the past.

Ham Radio Online (www.hamradio.com) has the following heavy duty spring from Cal-Av:

    Manufacturer: CAL-AV LABS
    Item : SS-1-MKV
    Description : HEAVY DUTY STAINLESS SPRING 3/8 X 24
    YOUR HRO PRICE $89.99

Also, check out boat dealers or marine supply stores. They usually sell radio equipment as well.
