  • Something to keep in mind that is often overlooked is controlling client TX power and designing the wireless network to support the weakest client. As GTHill pointed out, there is little difference at the RF level between an AP and a Client. For example, in high density deployment designed for radios at 5 or 10 mW, clients that are putting out 50 or 100mW are going to step on half a dozen AP cells (and depending on the site, will be audible across several floors). Inversely, a client that can only do 25mW may struggle in a site that was designed for 100mW clients.
