  • I am a bit confused with the point-to-multipoint concept. In my understanding a single cell with an AP and multiple client devices (laptops, handhelds, printers) is a point-to-multipoint network. The same term also applies to AP-to-AP(client/bridge mode).

Most topics I read have indicated that outdoor installations as point-to-multipoint (AP-to-BridgeAP).

So my question is, Does a single cell with client devices such as Laptops, Handhelds, scanners etc within an indoor environment (e.g. office space) a point-to-multipoint network?

If it is, then i would assume it could be an AP (in 2.4Ghz US) radiating at 36 dbm EIRP (30db + 6dbi OR 29db + 5dbi ...), right? or is there a restriction on radiated power for 2.4 Ghz indoor installations?

    Thank you in advance!
