  • hi,

i have a small wireless network consisting of

    400 x cisco 1242 ap`s
    5 x 4404 WLC
    1 x cisco WLA
    2 x cisco ACS (radius)
50 x 7921g phones (increasing all the time)
1 x CUAE server engine pushing xml patient results
    1 x cisco WCS

    wired
    4500 x 7920g cisco
    callmanager clusters

I have been wanting a way to site survey myself as the administrator for a while now. an outside company (no names)surveyed originally and performance is ok but the setting in the survey for power in particular do not match cisco controller options closely. also i would like to monitor wireless activity in an area.

    my ulitmate requirements are:

site survey tool with option to open beacons and record what the software capture. facility to detect potencial sources of noise and interference, perhaps detect adhoc rogues, although WCS does this (in a lame fasion imo ;-) )

basically a tool to install on a laptop with a wireless card/ antenna that a typical on site administrator would use to check that power levels and channel are right.

btw I know wi.spy 2.4x is a good tool to pick out noise and will be investing in that also.

    cheers
