  • Using Aruba what is the easiest way to configure new wireless profiles for 200 laptops without touching each one. I need to change the SSID and WPA2 Key.

    Info:
    WIN XP
    Active Directory Domain
    HP Laptops

  • Group Policy is the easiest way to do this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc162468.aspx

The article says Windows Vista, but works for XP, as well.

Another thing to note is that this will only add a wireless network on top of what you have configured, not change it.

  • Thanks for the TIP, I read some where that Aruba has a mobility client??? Or some type of client that will be down loaded when a user logs into their Captive portal.

Anyone familiar with Aruba Captive portal solutions?
    Thanks

  • Megric,

Aruba has an applet that when run will add or remove wireless network configurations from computers. You would normally add it to the login script to do this across computers.

With regards to the captive portal, you can make a captive portal page that has a link to the configuration applet. Users will click on the link and their wireless configuration will be applied to the computer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Outstanding that is exactly what I was looking for thanks

  • Hopefully the link works. I've had a problem getting the some of the switches to work, like /ValidateServerCert:True

  • Great thanks for the help.
