  • In the Cisco lightweight world, one of the features I've really come to appreciate is the ability to see one AP's wireless "neighbors". In other words, from the controller or WCS, you can see what one AP sees in the air from it's neighboring APs (AP names, signal strength, and channel). You can get similar info for Rogue APs that aren't part of the system.

I often use this feature to crudely triangulate APs that have been installed without documentation. I use the feature to get me in the ballpark area, then I can home in on it (and usually find it) with AirMagnet.

Is there a way to get this same neighbor info from an IOS-based AP? A show command perhaps? Or a configuration command that tells the AP to go offline and scan all channels for neighbors?

    Thanks,
    Steve
