  • I know that this is a pretty open question, but I'm after a sanity check on some survey work I'm doing.

I've read the Vocera planning guides regarding surveying for Vocera deployments (e.g. AP's transmit at 28dBm, rx sig strength -65 dBm, SNR > 25 etc.).

But the survey I'm doing is turning out to have some pretty small cell sizes. I'm looking at AP's at about every 10 - 12 metres.

The environment I'm covering is predominantly hospital wards which are relatively open, that are made from pretty modern materials (i.e. lots of internal dry walls).

I know the density of AP's is going to be a lot higher than for data, but I'm after a sanity check, as this is the first Vocera job I've done.

Anyone any feedback based on similar experience?

    Thanks.

    Nigel.
