  • I work with Cisco 1200 / 1240 APs. With a variety of antenna indoors and outdoors and ticketing machines ( basically hand held windows CE devices with Cisco cards)pushing data files back n forth. On one AP, we get upto 5 devices streaming, thats about the limit before the devices start to have problems with time outs. 15Mbps doesnt go far.

    If its just web browsing you would get a lot more devices connected successfully.

    I always take with a pinch of salt, any figures stating numbers of clients. As there are so many factors that can change this figure.

    Sadly, I think you can only get an idea of how many clients you can connect to a specfic AP, by using that AP in the environment that you want it. Taking that experience and equipment to further WLAN setups.
