  • I was interested in finding out field feedback on the accuracy [ or lack thereof ] of current 802.11n predictive analysis tools [ e.g. Air Magnet ]in respect to access point placement.

Placing .11n access points has no structured method due to the fact that the beastie actually likes multipath !!

Has anyone out there deployed a network using any of these tools ? How effective were they etc ?

After having gone into the MAC layer and PHY layer protocols in depth, I could imagine that frame analysis could be mind boggling.

Does anyone have experience with the built-in fault finding diagnostics on some of the new systems [ e.g. Meru ].

    Tks

P.S. the 802.11n Road Show that I visited in Fort Lauderdale was really good. Devin gave a good summary of the main features of 802.11n. Very informative. Bye the way, Devin has no "rate adjusting" feature. Wherever he is in the room, it's 54 Mbps all the way !! [ or 600 Mbps when he's .11n compatible for the next road show !! ].

A very nice lunch was given and some good freebies.

    Worth going to see.
