  • As I just sat my CWNA at the end of last year I would have to say no to this question. Yes you can gain a certain amount of knowledge by yourself but I would say with this exam in particular its one of the better one's in that you need to have some practical experience to back up what you read in the CWNA study guide. I really see it devalues a certification to think that its possible for someone to just come in take a training course or read a book and pass the exam. Hell when I first started out in IT one of the prime values that others told me about CCIE vs MCSE was that you couldn't get away with just reading the book to pass it. Dunno if its any different now with those, but I for one am glad that it seems CWNA needs some practical experience to be able to pass it.
