"adding" to your last post I would agree that some tests can be passed without a lot of hands on experience, but that doesn't cut down on their usefulness.

Like I said, the Network+ was about 50% of the CCNA. In addition, the Security+ exam can officially count towards other Cisco certifications.

I often take "freebie" exams just for the heck of it - it's kind of like working crossword puzzles.
