  • Isnt the CWNA level though to have an understanding and not necessarily be able to define a, b, c and d properly. After all would an RF expert be competent to design, install and implement a WLAN, well the answer is probably no.

    When I was working on WiMAX we had expert engineers onn the program, some of whom sat on the IEE 802.16 working group. Could they implement a WiMAX network, no they couldn't as the cable bit was outside their area of expertise. Equally with the WLAN I wouldn't expect to know as much about RF as perhaps a physicist or someone with a phd.

    I liken it to a door, one guy knows everything there is to possibly know about a hinge but has no idea as to how to attach it to a door. There is a line, the RF expert may design antennas etc but we only need to go so far and certain parts interest others.

    If you like the RF side thats cool, but lets keep it real and valid and unattainable just because we can
