    Correct me if my understanding of this isn't correct, but it seems like the various EAP types (ie. EAP-TLS) were WEP specific

    EAP protocols are all about authenication and not necessarily encryption. If mutual authenication of some sort occurs,encryption keys can be dynamically generated. Pre-WPA versions of LEAP, PEAP, EAP-TTLS, etc can generate dynamic WEP keys. WPA and WPA2 equipment can generate dynamic TKIP (WPA) and CCMP (WPA2) keys using an 802.11i process known as the 4-Way Handshake.

    So, you can use PEAP with dynamic WEP or PEAP with TKIP (RC4) or PEAP with CCMP (AES). Do not think of encryption as part of the authenication process... think of dynamic encryption key generation as a "by-product" of the authenication process.
