  • I agree with you but I also read somewhere that WEP encrypts only on the Physical and Data-link layers. I didn't realize that the Physical layer could be encrypted so that's the answer I chose.

    The question specifically asked (as far as I know)which layer is WEP encryption not possible (or something like that). It didn't ask which is the only layer that WEP offers encryption on.

    So, in this case WEP doesn't do encryption on the Network, Transport, and Application layers of the OSI model. Regarding the Physical layer...I still don't know even though it says that the Physical layer can be encrypted with WEP.

    I think I got a bogus question so maybe the writers of the test questions can review the WEP question that I am referring to. It only allowed one choice for the layer not allowing WEP encryption to take place. I really hated that question and still do.
