  • Am I right if I say that 802.11i allows a BSSs to advertize WEP-40/WEP-104 group and pairwise keys in their RSN IE. After reading part of the 802.11i specs, I have come to the conclusion that an AP can advertize a WEP-40/WEP-104 group key and require the use of the group key as a pairwise key. But in this case the AP can't advertize the use of TKIP/CCMP pairwise keys together with the use of a pairwise wep key. Is this what they call "dynamic wep" ? Why doesn't the standard allow the use of TKIP/CCMP pairwise keys together with a WEP pairwise key ? I cant find any good reason to justify it.
