  • The first WLSAT training course was held this past week in Washington DC. The 13 students in attendance received tons of cool wireless hacking tools in the toolkit plus instruction on how to use it all. All types of wirelesss penetration testing tools are in the toolkit. From RF signature analysis using Wi-Spy to 802.11 scanning and eavesdopping with Omnipeek and Commview to viewing emails and webpages captured out of the air using Netresident. It's all in this course and the best part is the students get to take it all home! The students were able to play with a custom Linux script running on top of a backtrack distro which allowed them to create a fake hotspot and capture passwords as well as piggyback on someone else's paid captive portal session. Students learned how to create rogue soft AP's and used a super cool USB stick which pulls an amazing amount of information out of the Windows registry including WEP and WPA keys. Check out the equipment and future class dates on www.hotlabs.org/wlsat
