    The STA sends an EAPoL-Start frame to the AP.

    The AP sends an EAPoL-Request/ID to the STA.

    The STA sends an EAPoL-Response/ID to the AP.

    The AS sends an EAPoL-Request to the AP which forwards it to the STA. This is the frame that specifies which type of EAP will be used. If the STA doesn't support this type of EAP, it will issue a NAK. The AS can then offer another type of EAP.
