  • In the center where I am taking my bootcamps I was not able to get my Win 7 laptop onto their Wi-Fi network, though my Android device joined fine.

I noticed that the Android was doing Shared Key authentication. When I forced Win 7 to do Shared Key, instead of WEP with a HEX key as it chose, I was able to connect.

I have a capture of the beacons. Where do I find out what the beacons are supposed to look like for an AP that requires Shared Key? The Open Systems Authentication capture on the CWSP CD only has the actual handshake. I have the CWNA and CWSP study material with me.

I'm interested to know if this is a Win 7 problem (both the Intel client and WZC) or the access point.

    Thanks,

    Dan
