  • Hi Gurus,

How does protocol Analyzers decode Control frames trasnmitted from a AP to Station.[B'coz ACK frames have only Reciver Address in their MAC info].

If a protocol analyzer has field in it called
control Frames Transmitted ,should it include the
ACK frames from AP towards stations.

    Please educate me.Need ur help.

    Best regards,

    hello Mr senthil ..

Regarding ur question on the ACK frames,as u have mentioned it has only one address so how an analyzer will show source and destination.

There is only single address for the destination but many anlyzer use their intelligence to fill up the source e.g if u have send data to STA1 then within next SIFS if ack comes it can be sent by the same STA1.So i think analyzer should be capable to understanding this logic.

I dont think there is some another way .Plz correct me in case m wrong ..

I will also request others members of the grp to plz answer the queries , now a days not many posts are coming , I think together we can do better.

    with Thanks
