  • I recently came across the results of the output from a survey done using Cisco WCS. The survey was completed for a standard office approx 60mx40m. The majority of APs are proposed to be installed at the perimeter of the building, ie: within a metre or two of the external walls. When I queried this, I was informed that Cisco recommend installing at the building edge to improve location tracking using triangulation. Can anyone confirm this or let me know what you think of this approach? Do you agree with it as a design principle?

  • Confirmed. Designing for location: build inwards from the perimeter.

    Tried & true.
