  • The phone doesn't need a great deal of bandwidth to begin with so it shouldn't be a factor. The primary consideration is long term: do you plan on having data clients? How many? How much bandwidth do they/will they need?

We're using the new Polycom/Spectralink phones but they are using the 2.4ghz 11b/g freq. We are saving the 5ghz spectrum for data devices (since we have a huge number of them). This allows us to pretty much dedicate all 2.4ghz resources to the phones with an ocassional b/g client.

As for the new phones, if you plan on the PTT feature... you are in for a "professional growth opportunity"!!! They should reimburse us for the number of bugs we've found for them then tested their new code. Normal phone calls are no problem at all.
