  • Does anyone have a recommendation on a USB adapter for capturing HT traffic with SGI (Short Guard Interval) on 20MHz channel width?
AirPcap Nx doesn't do it due to the limitation of the Atheros chipset used. It only does SGI on 40MHz channel.
Preferably something to use with Wireshark. Windows preferred, but Linux is OK I suppose.
Other free tools to make raw captures that can then be opened with Wireshark is of interest too.

    All advices are welcome. Thanks!

  • Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I do appreciate the information.

  • Jmr,

I suggest you check the Wi-Fi Alliance Web Site for devices that support SGI. They list over 2,000 if you include AP's.

The Linksys AE1000 USB certificate says that it supports it, and so do several Broadcom USB devices.

    Good Luck.

  • The Linksys AE1000 can also be used with wild packets.
