  • Greetings all.. For those designing and supporting wireless networks in healthcare verticals; regarding the new 2360-2400 spectrum alloted for medical devices.   Is there any one who has insight (even speculative) on whether this means deployment of separate infrastructure or might existing wireless platforms possibly be adapted to operate at those frequencies?

  • Other than the creation of MBAN I have heard nothing else about it.  I "speculate" that not much will come of it because there isn't a market pushing this.  Right now most medical gear works with normal WiFi frequencies.

One more 40 MHz wide channel for just medical equipment than can only be used in hospitals does not sound like anything the big WiFi guys are interested in supporting.  There just inst a market there.
This is 90% opinion and 10% speculation so take it for what it is
