  • Follow my reasoning and correct me if I am wrong.
    802.11 defines DSSS at 1 and 2 Mbs. Channels must be at least 30 Mhz apart.
    802.11b defines HR-DSSS at 5.5 and 11 Mbs. Channels must be at least 25 Mhz apart. It is backward compatible with 802.11 ( DSSS at 1 and 2 Mbs ).
    This is the question. If HR-DSSS is backward compatible with DSSS, when HR-DSSS operates at 1 and 2 Mbs, 25 Mhz channel spacing will not be enough and there will be major interference. Am I right ?
