  • At slow speeds (1 or 2 Mbps) or in other words far from the access point, is it better to leave the client device always on 802.11g or set it to 802.11b? Can I move further away on b than on g? Or, as I believe, it does not matter because a g client behaves exactly like a b client when it is far from the AP?

When roaming from an 802.11g access point to an 802.11b access point, will the changeover be slower than if both APs were 802.11g or both 802.11b?

    thank you
