    1) It does not matter. Your assessment is correct. A requirement of clause 19 (ERP) is that ERP (802.11g) clients be backwards compatible with HR/DSSS (802.11b) clients and support HR/DSSS data rates.

    2) It will not be slower just because you're moving from a G AP to a B AP.
