IEE P802.11 ?

Why is the IEEE 802.11 sometimes referred to as IEEE P802.11 ? What does the P mean?

I believe "P" stands for "project". It is a working ro study group of the IEEE working on Wireless LANs.

"IEEE P802.11 is a standards working group on wireless local area networks. The working group is a part of IEEE LMSC (LAN MAN Standards Committee) formerly called IEEE Project 802. IEEE LMSC reports to the Standards Activity Board (SAB) of the IEEE Computer Society."

Success Stories

I literally just came out of the testing centre having taken the CWDP exam. The certification process opened my mind to different techniques and solutions. This knowledge can only broaden your perspective. Great job, CWNP, you have a great thing going on here.
