  • Does anyone have any recommendations on which manufacture of USB Wireless adapters that are compatible with a virtual machine such as VMware workstation? The reason I ask is that in VMware workstations they do not recognize Wireless PC cards, such as Proxim/Orinoco Gold b/g cards which have the Atheros Chipset? I would like to use Kismet & Wireshark on a Windows virtual machine. Any suggestions on a USB Wireless Adapter that will work would be appreciated. Thank you

I have used the Linksys Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB600N on VMWare

The OS was XP and it also runs on Vista. It works like a charm just like any other adapter. Prompts you for the driver and will install.

  • Reg,

Do you know what chipset that Linksys USB adapter has in it?

    thanks,
